| Abstract | V rámci své bakalářské práce zkoumám animovaný televizní seriál Rick and Morty v jeho vztahu ke konceptu monomýtu komparativního religionisty Josepha Campbella. Monomýtus byl původně čistě deskriptivním modelem struktury mytického vyprávění, postupem času se ale především ve filmovém prostředí stal důležitým inspiračním zdrojem mnoha tvůrců. Vycházím především z knihy Tisíc tváří hrdiny a dále z poznatků psychoanalytiků Carla Gustava Junga a Sigmunda Freuda, kteří měli na výsledné chápání konceptu monomýtu výrazný vliv. Zkoumám především tvůrčí metody scénáristy Dana Harmona, narativní stavbu seriálu, fikční svět a postavy a sleduji, jakým způsobem se v něm projevuje hrdinský archetyp. Nedržím se striktně analytického přístupu, ale pouštím se i do interpretačních rovin. Dílo vkládám do dobového a distribučního kontextu. |
| Translation of abstract | In my thesis I analyze the animated TV series Rick and Morty in its relationship with the concept of hero‘s journey by comparative religionist Joseph Campbell. Hero‘s journey was originally a descriptive concept, but as the time went it became important inspirational source for many creators especially in the film industry. I used the book The Hero with Thousand Faces as the basis of my thesis in conjuction with the findings of psychoanalysts Carl Gustav Jung and Sigmund Freud, who influenced the concept of monomyth greatly. I study the creative method of screenwriter Dan Harmon, the narrative structure of the TV series, its fictional world and characters and the expressions of the hero‘s archetype. I sometimes leave the purely analytical approach and dwelve into the world of interpretation, as the chosen method demands it. I also discuss the historical and distributional context that lead to the creation of Rick and Morty. |
