| Abstract | The Crown je jedním z prvních britských seriálů z originální produkce Netflix. Investice se vyplatila a z The Crown se stal kritiky i publikem opěvovaný světový hit ověnčený mnoha prestižními cenami. Seriál kombinuje high-end produkci s prvky tradičního britského "period drama" s historickými a společenskými tématy, které ve Velké Británii silně rezonují dodnes. Úspěšnost The Crown inspirovala další ostrovní tvůrce a současná britská quality televizní tvorba se začíná více a více orientovat na online a SVOD platformy. Tato případová studie se zabývá analýzou vzniku, produkce a publika seriál The Crown v kontextu historie a současného bohatého vývoje britské televizní dramatiky. Jedním z hlavních zdrojů práce by vedle dostupných odborných pramenů měly být také hloubkové rozhovory s tvůrci seriálu. |
| Translation of abstract | The Crown is one of the first original British series produced by Netflix. The investment has paid off because The Crown became an international hit praised by both critics and audiences and has received multiple prestigious awards. The series combines high-end production in the traditional British period drama style with today's still resonating historical and social themes. Other British productions have been inspired by the success of The Crown and therefore the current television drama and quality tv production is more and more oriented towards the online SVOD platforms. This case study focuses on analysis of the development, production and audience of the series The Crown in the light of history and current trends in the British television drama production. Besides academical, one of the main sources for this study should also be thorough interviews with the creators of this show. |
