| Abstract | Práce mapuje filmovou tvorbu původních obyvatel Kanady, přičemž se zaměřuje na to, jak původní obyvatelé reprezentují svoji vlastní kulturu. Na úvod se práce věnuje problematice vidění a zobrazování „těch druhých“ v kontextu vizuální antropologie, která domorodé kultury zobrazuje zpravidla z perspektivy západní kultury. Teoreticky se práce opírá o pojetí dokumentárních modů Billa Nicholse, jež aplikuje na filmová díla realizovaná produkčními společnostmi Isuma a National Film Board of Canada. Cílem práce je určit specifika domorodého filmu, a to zejména z hlediska filmové řeči a motivů, které se ve filmech objevují. Důraz bude kladen dále na analýzu role vypravěče, příběhu a původních domorodých jazyků. |
| Translation of abstract | The thesis maps the filmmaking of the indigenous people of Canada, focusing on how native people represent their own culture. In the introduction the thesis focuses on the problematics of seeing and perceiving of "the others" in the context of visual anthropology, which usually represents a western cultural perspective. The thesis is theoretically supported by the conception of Bill Nichols' documentary modes , which are applied to film work realized by production companies Isuma and the National Film Board of Canada. The objective of the thesis is to determine the specifics of indigenous film, especially from the perspective of film language and motive found in the fillms. The role of the storyteller, story and indigenous language will be emphasized. |
