| Abstract | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá divadelními hrami Juste la fin du monde Jeana-Luca Lagarce a Tom à la ferme Michela Marca Boucharda a jejich filmovými adaptacemi Je to jen konec světa a Tom na farmě režiséra Xaviera Dolana. Ačkoliv se jedná o adaptace, můžeme tyto snímky označit za autorské filmy, ve kterých se stejně jako v jeho předešlých počinech projevuje Dolanův osobitý styl. Proto může být pro diváka překvapivé zjištění, že jsou tyto filmy adaptacemi. V obou případech se režisér podílel i na adaptačních scénářích – scénář k snímku Je to jen konec světa napsal sám, Toma na farmě adaptoval spolu s autorem divadelní předlohy Bouchardem. Pomocí intertextuální analýzy filmů a jejich předloh, jejich vzájemné komparace a interpretace autorského záměru se tato práce snaží jednak najít společné rysy obou adaptačních klíčů i realizačních řešení a tím popsat, jakým způsobem Xavier Dolan při adaptování pracuje, a pak také poukázat na to, v jakých aspektech se filmové adaptace od svých předloh odlišují a v čem si naopak zachovávají jistou divadelnost, která zde ale nepředstavuje zanedbání nebo nedostatek adaptační práce, nýbrž vědomé zacházení filmového scenáristy a režiséra s divadelními prvky. |
| Translation of abstract | This bachelor thesis deals with the plays Juste la fin du monde by Jean-Luc Lagarce and Tom à la ferme by Michel Marc Bouchard and their stage-to-film adaptations It’s Only the End of the World and Tom at the Farm, directed by Xavier Dolan. His adaptations remain auteur films, manifesting Dolan’s personal style as in his earlier pictures. That is why it can be surprising for the audience that these films are in fact adaptations. In both cases, the director also participated in writing of the adapted screenplays – he wrote the screenplay for It’s Only the End of the World himself and he adapted Tom at the Farm with Bouchard, the author of the original play. Using intertextual analysis of the films and the plays that they are based on, their mutual comparison, and interpretation of auteur’s intention, this thesis attempts to find common traits in both the adaptation keys and the mise-en-scène solutions and thus describes the process of adaptation chosen by Xavier Dolan. Moreover, it aspires to point out the aspects in which the film adaptations differ from the original plays and those in which, on the contrary, they stay theater-like, what does not represent a certain negligence or insufficiency in this case but a film director’s and screenwriter’s conscious treatment of theater elements. |
