| Abstract | Práce se věnuje podrobné definici stylu jednoho z nejvýraznějších bubeníků v oblasti tradičního jazzu. Zpracovává hudbu, kterou Art Blakey vytvořil v padesátých a šedesátých letech dvacátého století se svou kapelou The Jazz Messengers a pokouší se zachytit prvky, které definují kvalitu a výjimečnost jeho stylu hry. Cílem práce je shrnout informace o Artu Blakeym do jedné publikace a zároveň inspirovat současné bubeníky výrazovými prostředky nejvýznamnější bubenické legendy hard bopu a případně je motivovat k tvorbě vlastních modifikací původních materiálů. Důležitou součástí práce jsou transkripce kratších hudebních frází i delších fragmentů v podobě doprovodů a sól na bicí soupravu. |
| Translation of abstract | The thesis provides a detailed definition of the style of play of one of the most prominent drummers in the field of traditional jazz. It explores the music created by Art Blakey in the 1950s and 1960s with his band The Jazz Messengers and describes the elements that define the quality and uniqueness of his style. The aim of the thesis is to summarize the information about Art Blakey in one publication and also to inspire contemporary drummers with the musical language of the most significant drumming legend of hard bop and possibly motivate them to create their own modifications of the original materials. An integral part of the thesis are transcriptions of shorter musical phrases and also longer fragments in the form of drum accompaniments and drum solos. |
