| Abstract | V této práci uvažuji nad knihami, jejichž cílem je pomoci scenáristům napsat kvalitní scénář. Pokouším se hlouběji zkoumat dvě knihy na toto téma, které se od sebe značně odlišují. Jedná se o titul Story: Substance, Structure, Style and the Principles of Screenwriting jehož autorem je Robert McKee a titul Save the cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need, který napsal Blake Snyder. Ve srovnání se světem anglosaským není tento typ literatury v českém prostředí nijak běžný, proto se věnuji knihám zahraničním. Představuji nejen tituly samotné, ale také jejich autory; analyzuji kapitoly věnované postavám a struktuře scénáře, aplikuji metody McKeeho i Snydera na vybrané celovečerní filmy. V závěru pak shrnuji klady i zápory jednotlivých knih a jejich přínos pro potenciálního čtenáře. |
| Translation of abstract | In my thesis I focus on screenwriting literature. I decided to scrutinize two very different titles: Robert McKee's Story: Substance, Structure, Style and the Principles of Screenwriting and Blake Snyder's Save the cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need. Literature approaching this subject is not very common in Czech environment which is the reason I concentrate on two foreign publications. I am not only introducing the books themselves, I also present their authors, I examine the chapters on characters and on structure, I apply McKees's and Snyder's principles on two selected feature films. Lastly I summarise pros and cons of both of the books and the value they could bring to potential readers. |
