| Abstract | Soumrak veřejné projekce se zaměřuje na současný trend přesunu filmového obsahu do online prostředí streamovacích platforem. Nezměrný vliv na celou situaci měla celosvětová pandemická krize, která tento trend akcelerovala. V textu pracuji s dvěma způsoby sledování audiovizuálního obsahu. Veřejná projekce reprezentuje klasický zážitek z kin. Netflix a další nastupující streamovací platformy zastupuje pojem pro osobní užití. První část této diplomové práce tvoří panorama současné filmové distribuce, kterou postihla pandemie. Na to reaguje retrospektivní pohled do historie, který popisuje, jak se kinematografie dokázala v minulosti vypořádat s nástupem televizí a přenosných nosičů. Soumrak veřejné projekce se věnuje i specifickým vlastnostem, které definují kontrast mezi sledováním audiovizuálních příběhů v kinosálech či ve formě pro osobní užití. Tato diplomová práce se věnuje i modelům, které se snaží propojit veřejné projekce, se sledováním obsahu na VOD. Ty jsou samy o sobě pozoruhodné a nabízejí alternativu streamovacím gigantům, ale v současnosti nemůžeme říct, že by šlo o řešení pro zachování veřejných projekcí. Závěr práce se snaží nabídnout prognózu nejisté budoucnosti. V době, kdy byl Soumrak veřejné projekce psaný, stále nebylo jisté, jak dopadne situace s takzvanými okny, které reprezentují časovou mezeru mezi premiérou v kinech a umístěním na VOD. Zásadní roli však v budoucnosti veřejných projekcí bude hrát rozšíření služeb, které mohou kina nabídnout svým divákům. |
| Translation of abstract | The Twilight of Public Screening focuses on the current trend of moving of the film content to the online environment of streaming platforms. The global pandemic crisis, which has accelerated the trend, had a huge impact on the whole situation. Text works with two ways of watching film content. Public screening represent a classic cinema experience. Netflix and other emerging streaming platforms are represented by term for personal use. The first part of this thesis is a comprehensive panorama of the current film distribution and the ways in which it copes with the consequences of the pandemic. A retrospective look at history responds to this, describing how cinema has managed to deal with the advent of television and VHS in the past. The Twilight of Public Screening also deals with specific features that define the contrast between watching audiovisual stories in cinemas and in the form for personal use. The models that try to combine watching movies in theaters with watching content on VOD are certainly remarkable and offer an alternative to streaming giants, but at present we cannot say that it is a solution for maintaining public screening. The conclusion of the thesis tries to offer a forecast of the uncertain future of public screening. At the time when The Twilight of Public Screening was written, it was still uncertain how the situation with the so-called windows, between the premiere in cinemas and distribution on VOD, would be solved. However, the expansion of the services that cinemas can offer to their audiences will play a crucial role in the future of public screening. |
