| Abstract | Snahou tohoto pojednání je v základních obrysech přiblížit fenomén italské opery a hudebního provozu v Londýně v první polovině 18. století s důrazem na ekonomické a organizační aspekty podstatně se lišící od dobové kontinentální praxe. Osobnost Georga Friedricha Haendela v sobě snoubí oba světy: zkušenosti s italskou hudební scénou i sbírání zkušeností a vytváření pro italskou operu vhodných podmínek na ostrovní půdě britské metropole. |
| Translation of abstract | The following text attempts to describe, in basic outlines, the phenomenon of the Italian opera and music business in the 18th century London, while focusing on its economical and organisational aspescts, which differed substantially from the Continetal practices. Georg Friedrich Haendel's personality embodies both, his experience of the Italian musical life as well as his role in creating suitable conditions fot the Italian opera in the capital city of the British Isles. |
