| Abstract | Bakalářská práce se zabývá životem a hudebním jazykem amerického swingového kytaristy Allana Reusse. Částečně se také věnuje roli kytary ve swingové rytmické sekci. V práci budou za pomocí transkripcí autora rozebrány jednotlivé elementy Reussovy hry. Analyzované nahrávky pocházejí z doby, kdy byl Reuss na jazzové scéně aktivní, tzn. mezi lety 1935 – 1946. Hlavní důraz bude kladen na analýzu improvizovaných akordických sól, avšak podrobně bude rozebrána i rytmická stránka jeho hry. V neposlední řadě práce přivádí jméno Allan Reuss do česko-jazyčného prostředí. Nepočítáme-li drobné zmínky v příbězích Reussových slavnějších současníků, neexistuje o jeho osobě v českém jazyce dostupná literatura. |
| Translation of abstract | The bachelor thesis deals with life and musical language of an American swing guitar player Allan Reuss. It also partially deals with the role of the guitar in the swing rhythm section. The individual elements of Reuss's playing will be analyzed in the thesis through the author's transcriptions. The analyzed recordings are from the time when Reuss was active on the jazz scene, ie. between 1935 and 1946. The main emphasis will be put on the analysis of improvised chord solos, but the rhythmic aspect of his playing will also be analyzed in detail. Last but not least, the work brings the name Allan Reuss to the Czech-language environment. If we do not count the small mentions in the stories in which Reuss's more famous contemporaries figure, there is no literature available about him in the Czech language. |
