| Abstract | Walter Murch je filmovým zvukařem a střihačem, který obohatil filmový slovník o pojem Sound Design. Jeho filmografie zahrnuje legendární filmy, jako například The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, THX1138 a další. Tento text se zabývá zvukovou dramaturgií nejen těchto děl a zvukařskou tvorbou Waltera Murche obecně. Murch také obohatil zvukovou tvorbu o pojem worldizing, proslul kreativní prací s filmovou hudbou a je jedním z pionýrů vícekanálového zvuku ve filmu. Další prostor je věnován samotnému pojmu Sound Design, vzniku, vývoji a sou- časnému významu. Na přiloženém DVD jsou obsaženy ukázky Murchovy práce. Na nich demonstruji Murchův styl práce jak s jednotlivými zvukovými kategoriemi, tak s celkovou zvu- kovou dramaturgií. |
| Translation of abstract | Walter Murch is a film sound designer and editor who introduced the term "Sound Design". His filmography is full of legendary movies such as The Godfather, Apo- calypse Now, THX1138 etc. This text analyses the sound design of the movies he had worked on and the work of Walter Murch in general. Murch also invented the worldizing technology, became well known for his creative work with film music, and was one of the pioneers of multichannel sound. More space is dedicated to the explanation of the term Sound Design, its origins, development and current meaning. Video clips on the enclosed DVD demonstrate Murch`s artistic and storytelling style. |
