| Abstract | Práce Strachem k přenesení: Role rodiny a překonávání traumatu ve filmech Ariho Astera si klade za cíl popsat společná témata dvou filmů současného amerického filmaře Ariho Astera. Konkrétně se jedná o snímky Děsivé dědictví (Hereditary, 2018) a Slunovrat (Midsommar, 2019). Podrobným rozborem těchto filmů si ukážeme způsoby, jakými se hororové filmy mohou dotýkat filozofických, sociologických i antropologických teorií a myšlenek. K tomuto účelu budu citovat z několika zahraničních teoretických esejí a akademických prací, které se Asterovou tvorbou zabývají. Záměrem práce je především tyto dva filmy porovnat a zjistit, v čem jsou si podobné a v čem se liší z hlediska vyrovnávání se s traumatem skrz rodinu. Rád bych textem přispěl ke skrovné reflexi hororového žánru, která se tomuto tématu v českém akademickém prostoru zatím dostává. |
| Translation of abstract | The paper Towards transgression through fear: The role of the family and overcoming trauma in Ari Aster’s films aims to describe common topics of two films of the current American film-maker Ari Aster. I will focus mainly on the movies Hereditary and Midsommar as they best embody his work. The paper aims to examine them and show through them how can horror movies touch on philosophical, sociological and anthropological theory and thoughts. The paper will be using a couple of foreign essays and academic papers which are examining the works of Aster. The aim of the paper is primarily to compare these two films and to find out in which aspects they are similiar and in which they differ in regards to dealing with trauma through family. I would like my work to be a modest contribution to the severely limited reflection of horror genre in czech academic fields. |
