| Abstract | Tato práce se snaží zmapovat operní dílo francouzského skladatele Julesa Masseneta; zvláštní pozornost je pak věnována Massenetově opeře Werther. První kapitola chronologicky zachycuje celé Massenetovo operní dílo. Druhá a třetí kapitola popisují charakter Massenetovy skladatelské osobnosti a vlastnosti jeho hudebního stylu. Čtvrtá kapitola sleduje historické souvislosti opery Werther; pátá kapitola pak uvádí detailní popis děje opery s využitím hudebních příkladů. |
| Translation of abstract | This thesis tries to map the operatic work of the French composer Jules Massenet; special attention is then paid to Massenet’s opera Werther. The first chapter chronologically captures the entire operatic work of Jules Massenet. The second and the third chapters describe the character of Massenet’s compositional standing and the characteristics of his musical style. The fourth chapter follows the historical context of his opera Werther; the fifth chapter presents a detailed description of the opera’s plot using musical examples. |
