| Abstract | Cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza hudebního stylu autorského díla Johna Scofielda. Práce se zaměřuje pouze na čtyři vybraná alba z období jeho tvorby v letech 1985 - 1987, a to konkrétně na desky Still Warm, Blue Matter, Loud Jazz a Pick Hits Live. Z prvních třech jmenovaných je vždy zpracována analýza minimálně jedné skladby a dohromady tato bakalářská práce obsahuje celkem sedm podrobných analýz. Konkrétně se jedná o skladby Techno, Still Warm, Protocol, Rule Of Thumb, Blue Matter, So You Say a Loud Jazz. Album Pick Hits Live je živým záznamem koncertu, a proto byla z analyzování záměrně vynechána. Přímo pro účely tohoto výzkumu bylo vytvořeno sedm notových transkripcí, v případě skladby Still Warm navíc bakalářská práce obsahuje notový zápis kytarového sóla. Analýza hudebního díla je doplněna o stručnou biografii Johna Scofielda a také společensko- politický a kulturně-historický kontext analyzovaného období. |
| Translation of abstract | The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyze the musical style of John Scofield’s original compositions. The thesis focuses on only four chosen albums from 1985 to 1987, i.e. Still Warm, Blue Matter, Loud Jazz and Pick Hits Live. There is at least one song analyzed from each of the three first named albums and all together this thesis contains seven detailed analyses. Specifically, the analyzed songs are Techno, Still Warm, Protocol, Rule Of Thumb, Blue Matter, So You Say and Loud Jazz. The album Pick Hits Live is a live concert recording which is why it was excluded from the analysis. Seven sheet transcriptions have been created for this particular research, in the case of Still Warm a transcription of the guitar solo is included as well. In addition, this thesis contains a brief biography of John Scofield and a description of the socio- political, cultural and historical context of this analyzed period. |
